Airtel
Airtel is one of those network carriers which provide an affordable internet service for mobiles in India. At Rs.98 per month for 2GB limited browsing, the speed is good enough to keep yourself online all the time from your mobile. The Airtel Live! is free to activate, and would charge you accordingly with the amount of download. The settings are usually sent to your mobile once you activate the plan, but sometimes the carrier fails to do so if they didn’t recognize your mobile phone model. There you need to enter the settings manually. Here are the various Airtel GPRS plans. Below are the different ways.Table of Contents (Click to go below!)

Airtel GPRS Settings for China Mobiles
We tried the below settings in one of the Chinese manufactured mobile devices, and it worked. But we are not sure whether the same settings would apply for all the other mobiles too, still it’s worth a try.The below settings are for Mobile Office and Airtel Live.
Mobile Office Settings – China mobile devices
For the settings of Mobile office in the device, go to Services icon > Data Account > GPRS > Edit any account and here edit the following:Account Name: MO
APN: airtelgprs.com
Auth. Type: Normal
Save the settings, and then go to Services > WAP > Settings > Edit Profile > Edit any existing account, and make the following changes:
Rename Profile: Mobile Office
Homepage: Google
data account: MO
Connection type: You would see 3 options here – Connection-oriented, Connectionless and HTTP. Go to Connection-oriented and make the below changes:
IP Address: 202.056.231.117
Security: off
Now save the settings and go back and hit Activate Profile.
Airtel Live Settings – China mobile devices
To get the Airtel Live settings in your China devices, go to Services > Data Account > GPRS > Edit any existing account. There make the following changes:Account Name: LIVE
APN: airtelfun.com

Save the settings and then click Back button, hit Activate Profile.
Settings for Laptop – Use Mobile as Modem
This is the settings in your Windows laptop, that can help you connect to the internet using the mobile phone with Airtel GPRS as a modem. The other way of doing is the Nokia PC Suite if it’s a Nokia mobile, but for the other phones here is the way to do it -- Go to Control Panel > Network & Internet Connections
- Under the header named Pick a Task, click on Create a connection to the network at your workspace.
- You will now see “New Connection Wizard” box, and select “Dial-up connection” and click Next.
- Give the connection name as Airtel GPRS
- Enter the Phone Number as *99***1#
- Then finish the setup, along with the placing of a desktop shortcut for the connection.
If you face any problem with the connecting of Internet with this trick, check for the following:
- Check whether the right drivers for your mobile are installed in the computer. If not, getting the drivers for particular mobiles isn’t hard. If you don’t find any, then post in the comments and we would help you find them.
- Sometimes the phone itself can’t be used as a internet modem. So do check with the company whether you can use the phone or not.
- The Airtel Live won’t work with this trick. It is only Mobile Office that you need to subscribe to, for the internet connection on the laptop too.

Airtel Mobile Office Settings by SMS
Once you have activated the Mobile office service for your mobile, Airtel would automatically send you the Configuration message with the settings that get installed and you need to save them as default. But most of the times you don’t get the settings and you need to ask for the same.Send an SMS as MO to 52567 and you would instantly get the settings on your mobile. But this would happen only if the network operator knows the device you have the SIM card in. If not, then you need to confirm the same with the operator through customer care service.
If you still have any problem with the settings of GPRS or EDGE of Airtel i.e. Airtel Live and Mobile Office, just comment and we would try to help more. Just post some info about your mobile, and the mobile number and carrier -
